Veggie Burgers - Boring or Bold???

Product review time again...

For all of you that know me in real life then you know I am strictly a meat and potatoes woman.  I hardly ever try new foods and new cuisines as it is all 'Greek to me', if you will forgive the pun.

When I got into the BzzAgent campaign for MorningStar Farm vegetable products, I just figured that maybe, just maybe I needed to try something different. I had heard from other people at various times in recent months how many different varieties of product there are in the 'meatless' category and how the brand of MorningStar was one of the better brands available.

When I received my BzzKit with coupons, it just so happened that it was also shopping day.  I went to my local supermarket and was happy to see that I could purchase the item to try it in my regular store and that it was not a specialty item that was hard to find in a local supermarket.

I chose the Tomato Basil Pizza Veggie Burgers because I love anything with an Italian flavor to it as I have since I was younger growing up in a traditional Italian household. I decided to try them as a Saturday lunch whereas I would usually have a peanut butter sandwich or tuna fish salad since they were quick and easy. However, making the decision to actually cook on a Saturday afternoon was prompted by a need to get back to basics and reintroduce myself to my kitchen.

Upon removing the veggie patties from the package they looked to me like a pre-packaged hamburger patty with extra spices mixed in so at least I could relate that they were not some weird color which is what I was expecting.  There was several ways I could have cooked them  so I chose to just put them on my burger grill and see what happens.  They browned nicely and evenly over both sides.  I served them with a side of veggie chips.

The taste of the patty was smooth, not grainy like other veggie products I have tried.  For this you really got the taste of the tomato and basil but not overpowering. It also had the right blend of spices so it did not have an acidic afterglow.  I recommend this product and will have to try other varieties as these MorningStar Farms products are available in different flavors and for different meal times.

It was a great quick meal and will be part of my 'new' regular palate of groceries.  To see more visit https://www.morningstarfarms.com/

Strong, Functional Umbrella

This is absolutely the best umbrella I have owned in a long time!  It is functional and fashionable!  I bought the turquoise blue because I am so tired of the sea of black umbrellas I see every time it rains.  I wish more people would have bright colored umbrellas to brighten up those dreary rainy days.  But I regress... This umbrella is different from the moment you get it home.  You can see the difference in just the opening of it when you see the sleeve it comes in and the material the sleeve is made of.  The umbrella is made of that same material. It is thicker than your standard umbrellas you can see that and the material feel is soft yet durable. When you see the handle it has the auto open/close button and a wrist strap.  The feel of the handle is almost like those plush microfiber materials yet made of plastic.  It felt very comfortable in hand and did not slip. When you finally open the umbrella there is a black 'powdercoat' on...

The Scent of Christmas - All Year!

I love the smells of Christmas!  Pine trees, cold air, snow, and of course, Peppermint! I recently discovered the benefits of pure essential oils for health, wellness and home uses.  It was recommended to me that I try using an oil product in my diffusers/humidifiers in order to help clear up my sinuses.  Right now it is cold and flu season although it is unseasonably warm in the NorthEast.   I found this product and researched the company and learned a lot about them and the products they make.  They are community oriented and based in the United States.  I have used this now for a few weeks and find that my friends were spot on.  It soothes my nasal issues and I find that I breathe easier.   The scent is strong but not overbearing.  Some scents can make you cough and your eyes burn, but not these.  I find it brings great memories of Christmastime and heath and home. It also is great to ward off those little rodents in your h...

True Coffee Deserves True Flavor

My old friend Crowdtap is at it again. They have been partnered with the Folgers brand for a while now.  Folgers has truly grown as a brand over the past few years and now with this product, they have show to be a true competitor in this market. My best memories of the Folgers brand was an old commercial where a college student comes home for Christmas and wakes up his family by making a pot of Folgers coffee. But I regress. I love these Folgers Flavors coffee enhancers.  They come in 4 varieties, Vanilla, Mocha, Hazelnut, and Caramel. You can use as small an amount or as large an amount to bring the flavor out in your coffee to suit your needs.  The aroma of a truly hot cuppa when adding these is reminiscent of a true coffeehouse brewing which can get pricey if done every day.  Here is a less expensive alternative that allows you to get your much needed flavor rush while enjoying a casual java.  At least that's my opinion. The Vanilla is my f...
